He's also the 2025 recipient of the Academic Pioneer in Quantum Award from the Quantum World Congress.

In this episode of the IEEE CS Quantum Podcast Series, host Steve talks with D-Wave's Trevor Lanting and Rob Schoelkopf. Trevor Lanting, D-Wave's Chief Development Officer, is a senior R&D executive with over 15 years of experience in technology development. He leads D-Wave's product development organization, which includes teams responsible for software, systems, and cloud services. He holds a BSc in physics and astronomy from the University of British Columbia and a PhD in physics from the University of California, Berkeley. Rob Schoelkopf, co-founder of Quantum Circuits and now Chief Scientist at D-Wave, is the Sterling Professor of Applied Physics and Physics at Yale University and Founding Director of the Yale Quantum Institute. His is one of the founders of the circuit quantum electrodynamics field with many firsts in solid-state quantum computing, including the transmon qubit and quantum algorithms with quantum error correction in integrated circuits.
