From early responsibility and rigid gender roles to strained mother–daughter relationships and the expectations placed on daughters but not sons, this episode explores why so many African girls feel exhausted long before adulthood. I share personal reflections on navigating culture, faith, identity, and belonging, as well as the growing belief among young girls that marriage is the only path to freedom—and why that mindset can be harmful. This conversation isn’t about hating our culture. It’s about loving it enough to tell the truth and choosing to do better for the next generation.
