Imesh-Mimesh - episode #8 - on the origins of Tatar language and Tatar nation

This is the 8th episode of our Imesh-Mimesh podcast, with linguist from University of Buffalo Andrey Drinfeld. Andrey is an absolutely unique person - Ukrainian-American linguist who is fluent in Tatar (and like 8 other languages), and big fan of Tatar and Bashkort music, culture and history. We talk about the origins of modern Tatar language, its interaction with neighboring Finno-Ugric languages and relation to ancient Bulgar language. Also, we discuss the history of Tatars and of course a little bit of Tatar music (with Andrey singing a Tatar song!)  This episode would very informative for most Tatars (and a lot of fun!) Links to the primary sources referred in podcast by Andrey could be found on our Facebook page.
