‘Blurred Realities’ poetry slam: MSU poets reflect on truth and creativity

On April 9, the MSU Museum brought National Poetry Month to life with the “Blurred Realities” poetry slam. Drawing inspiration from the museum’s “Blurred Realities [https://museum.msu.edu/exhibition/blurred-realities/]” exhibition, the event encouraged audiences to consider how truth is shaped and distorted in a world of AI and digital manipulation. The evening was led by nationally acclaimed poets Natasha T. Miller and Mahogany L. Browne, and featured additional performances from local poets and MSU students.

These organizations aim to create a community for students who want to develop their careers early in college. Professional chapters offer a structured way to gain those advantages, providing mentorship, skill‑building workshops and networks that extend beyond MSU.

On Jan. 29, over 1,000 MSU students walked out of their classes and gathered at the Hannah Administration building, despite the 10 degree temperature and brutal wind. The crowd voiced their contempt regarding the recent controversial actions taken by ICE and DHS in Minneapolis.
