Do you constantly feel like you’re running on E? No matter how many hours are in the day somehow you barely have time to catch your breath? Are you starting to compare your everyday life to being on a hamster wheel? If yes, you may be experiencing burnout.  It can be due to our home lives, job requirements, school, and  even daily habits. I believe a key piece of being burned out is being out of alignment with your life’s calling and purpose. I also believe that it is important to ensure that our processes (schedules, time  off, sleep  schedule etc.) are working for our good.  In this episode I explore some ways in which I danced with burnout knowingly and unknowingly, and some steps I took to overcome. Life can sometimes feel mundane, unfulfilling, and without meaning. It can lead us to a cycle of burnout and feeling as though we are surviving. I believe the beauty of being human is that God intended for us to live purposeful lives. Just like we were thought of before our worldly existence, so was our purpose. It is evident in the following scriptures: * Jeremiah 29:11 [NIV] states "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  * Jeremiah 1:5 [NIV] “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Purpose is embedded in us, it is not something external that needs to be 'found'. Exploring purpose means truly sitting with yourself and dissecting who you are, what you do well, and what do others seek you out for. It gives meaning to the gifts and talents that you possess. Playing small prevents you from achieving your full potential and holds you back from a life well lived.  Signs of playing small include hiding from your true self, avoiding taking risks, giving fear the ability to reign over your life, waiting for others to live,  and settling for less than you deserve.
