Shaun Flores- My story of OCD can be someone else’s healing

Have you fulfilled ideas regardless of the negative cost to you? Has speaking about your story helped you? Is there a side of OCD that nobody talks about? In the fifth episode of season 8, we were joined by OCD advocate, Shaun Flores, to speak about his advocacy work in this field. Shaun grew up with a bedrock of ideas which he fulfilled despite the cost this brought him. That cost was his constant pursuit of achievement, while not being satisfied by such achievements, poor mental health and ultimately intrusive thoughts. Yet, since his diagnosis of OCD, he wants to use this to raise awareness of this disorder and for his story to be someone else's healing. Through the conversations he has had and the articles he has written, this has made a massive impact in the advocacy space and has helped plenty of individuals. Emmanuel Onimowo - Powerlifting is all about you versus you

How would you describe your passion? Why do we let go of good habits? Do you need help to pursue continuous progress? In the fourth episode of this season, we were joined by powerlifter, photographer and business owner Emmanuel Onimowo to speak about his passion for powerlifting. Emmanuel has many passions, but the primary one is powerlifting. The first time he went to the gym with his brother, it ignited a flame within him to pursue this sport and pursue continuous progress within it. He has been able to compete in competitions and achieve outstanding totals in his squat, bench and deadlift, and he is focused on competing in future contests. And yet, amazingly, he's still able follow his other passions, including architecture, photography and his clothing business. Emmanuel is an individual defined by focusing on the process over the destination and was an absolute joy to interview. Adalyn Smith - Pursuing APD advocacy to the fullest

Have you found it hard to find what you love, despite the judgment of others? Do people lack education, or do they lack empathy? What does being an advocate look like? In this great podcast episode, we were joined by APD advocate Adalyn Smith. Adalyn grew up during her early years, struggling to understand why she found it difficult to understand people’s instructions and follow things at school and other day-to-day regularities. When she was diagnosed with an auditory processing disorder, it clarified her struggle and how she could manage her condition. It isn’t easy living with this condition, which Hamish knows fully of as he has the condition, but they have found ways to use their platforms to highlight this condition. From doing her first post back a few years ago to being a regular speaker on podcasts and live streams, Adalyn has grown as an individual and an advocate for those with the condition. Lucy Carter Vale - Creating a sense of belonging through dance

In the second episode of season eight of this podcast, we were joined by the owner of LMA Studios, Lucy Carter-Vale, to talk about her passion for dance. Lucy found her love for dancing at a very young age, and it allowed her to escape from the reality that she was in. She always dreamed of owning a dance studio, yet she lacked the confidence to go full ahead with this dream. However, through a moment in a car, she figured out the name of her studio, and the rest was history. Since starting LMA studios in 2017, Lucy has been able to create a sense of belonging for those who attend the dance studio and be a role model for future dancers.
