Descripción

This week Dave and I sit down and riff on the concept of the “3rd place”, the place that isn’t your home or workplace where you like to spend your spare time. As we discover, it can be anything from a coffee shop to a strip club - as long as you feel like you can relax and be yourself there, it’s a candidate for your 3rd place. With the diminishing of the social club and continuing digitization of the town square, it is now very crucial for a guy (or a lady) to find somewhere to hang out, get to know folks outside of your inner social circle and not think about the stressors that are ever-present in our day-to-day lives. Can Humor Be a Strong Conduit?

First, thank G-d I’m not alone in thinking humor can be an incredible asset and coping skill! Second of all, thanks to Trip from Man Therapy [http://www.mantherapy.org](www.mantherapy.org) from validating this belief in finding that many of the men who connect with his organization find the humorous tone more in line with their personalities than websites that have backgrounds of mountains and spa music playing. Check out the full episode and see how Man Therapy [http://www.mantherapy.org] can get anyone the help they need no matter if they are really struggling or just wants to ensure their continued mental wellness. Episode 18 - Why are Hobbies Good for You?

In this episode we go on location to Dave’s house to discuss the positive effects of non-destructive hobbies on your mental health. I say non-destructive because if you’re a Dahmer or Epstein, your hobbies are probably not good for anyone - I mean, even O.J played golf to unwind…So yeah, we discuss how a good non-destructive hobby like playing an instrument, playing a sport, doing crossword puzzles or even playing video games can bolster your mental health, and how. We also discuss why men seem to not find time for their hobbies and what they can do to carve out that time. Crucially, you’ll find out where I was last week that I couldn’t post this and marvel as Dave discusses his vacation that he’s currently on and why there probably won’t be an episode next week. Yes….This is Dave and I was in Alaska (and Canada for a little bit)! My hobbies on the trip included "peopling”, eating, exploring, working out and basking in the cold weather (I live in South Florida where the lows are usually in the high 80’s this time of year). See you all soon! This is a public episode. Episode 17 - We Talk About Different Therapies

You wouldn’t wear one-size-fits-all shoes or condoms and therapy is the same: you need to find the style that fits you. In this episode we chat about what’s out there, how some of the different types/styles of therapy work and what they conditions for which they might work best. We basically touch on a few different styles and if you would like more information on any of them, feel free to reach out! FYI - We don’t get too much into the importance of your connection with the therapist.. This goes without saying but that might be the first and most important part of the process! Give a listen and hit us up if you have any comments/questions! Dave & Andres This is a public episode.
