Exploring Feminine and Masculine Energy

In this Pink Room conversation, we explore the concept of feminine and masculine energy by defining what the energies entail, emphasizing that they are not tied to gender, but rather to qualities within everyone. We discuss the importance of understanding these energies for personal growth, relationships and well being. We share poll results from listeners and personal experiences reflecting on how feminine and masculine energies show up in our everyday lives as mothers and in relationships. We also touch on wounded energies, toxic masculinity and discuss why and how we want to find a better balance moving forward in the new year. Grab a coffee, glass of wine, relax and join the convo or let us come with you on your hot girl walk. Thanks for tuning in! episode #WorkingMomof3Life artwork

#WorkingMomof3Life

In this episode, we discuss the challenges of returning to work and sustaining careers as mothers and how doing so got increasingly more difficult the more children we had. We touch on the cost of child care, demoting to lower positions to accomodate the needs of our families, how long it took us to return to full time work and managerial positions, the imbalance that comes with "doing it all," how we both thought we were sick but it turned out to be just typical mom exhaustion, and review research that indicates the most "stressed" out mothers are reported as mothers of 3 and hypothesize why that may be true. We hope you enjoy this girl talk about family and careers and please contact us on Instagram @in.the.pinkroom or via email at inthepinkroomwithjessandlaura@gmail.com. to share your thoughts and experience on this topic.

episode The One that Got Away artwork

The One that Got Away

The recent break-up of JLo and Ben Affleck prompted this Pink Room conversation about "The One that Got Away." We discuss this concept and include responses and stories from our listeners (70% said yes, this is a real thing), dissect the psychology behind this idea (our hypothesized guess is people often romanticize past relationships due to boredom in long-term relationships), and the objective of reaching out to the one that got away (derives from guilt over how things ended or the thoughts of "what if?" We also share our thoughts on soul mates and whether they exist and conclude that the past should be left in the past and a memory of the the one that got away should just be a memory to be grateful for, and that's all.
