Descripción

In this episode of the Into the Wild podcast, we sit down with three Gen Z students to talk honestly about identity—how it’s shaped, challenged, and often confused in today’s culture. Together, we explore the pressures Gen Z faces around comparison, labels, and expectations, and how Scripture calls us to ground our identity not in opinions or performance, but in who God says we are. Through real stories, biblical truth, and open conversation, this episode points listeners back to an unshakable foundation for identity. If you’re a student, young adult, or leader navigating questions of identity in today’s world, this conversation is for you.

What Is Identity? Who Defines You? | Pastor Andrew and Nathan Brown

In episode 4  of Into the Wild, Pastor Andrew and Nathan Brown continue the Who Am I? series by addressing one of the most common identity traps in today’s culture allowing what you do to define who you are. Sports, success, and achievement are not bad things, but they make terrible foundations. When identity becomes performance-based, value rises and falls with outcomes. A bad game feels like personal failure. An injury feels like losing purpose. Not getting picked feels like rejection. And transitions create identity crises. The danger isn’t loving what you do, it's becoming what you do. This episode challenges listeners to build their identity on something unshakable. Scripture reminds us: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand.” — Ephesians 2:10 Identity comes before assignment. Calling flows from who you are in Christ, not what you accomplish. Sports can end. Roles can change. Platforms can disappear. But when identity is rooted in Christ, loss doesn’t destroy you, it refines you. If you’ve ever felt pressure to perform, fear of failure, or confusion when seasons change, this episode will help reset the foundation of your identity.
