In this episode, we discuss Mick Miller's Memoir "What Are You Prepared To Do?" Mick is a renowned performance and conditioning coach with life experiences including cancer survival, Olympic team coaching and CEO performance coaching. He has coached Olympians over seven games and three professional sports. However, there’s much more to his story than the accolades. A fit-focused individual with a passion for swimming, Mick’s life took a harrowing turn during one of his regular swims. Discovering a lump that was later diagnosed as throat cancer, he was thrust into the most significant challenge of his life, far removed from the athletic fields he was accustomed to. But true to his nature, Mick wasn’t one to back down. Amidst treatment and recovery, Mick embarked on a transformative journey around Australia. This wasn’t just about battling cancer but rediscovering himself, understanding deeper truths, and cementing values and purpose.

Musica Giovane

We chat with Nick Lavermicocca about his Iconic radio show, Musica Giovane. Musica Giovane launched in January 1980, broadcasting Italian music on community radio in Sydney, Australia (2SER-FM, 2NSB-FM and 2RDJ-FM). For over a decade it was the only music-based Italian radio program, introducing hundreds of new artists and bands to its Italo-Australian listeners – from Claudio Baglioni, Renato Zero, i Pooh and Lucio Dalla to Eros Ramazzotti, Giorgia, Nek and Laura Pausini. It also actively promoted local talent and local music festivals. For many years, it was the only radio program in Australia to “live” broadcast the annual Sanremo Italian Song Festival. The program was subsequently broadcast every weekend from 1994 to 2016 on the national Italian AM/FM radio network, Rete Italia. Throughout the 80’s, Musica Giovane also hosted M.G. Dance Nights, a Friday night disco, bringing together young Italo-Australians.
