Descripción

It's lockdown, and the world has completely changed!!! but what hasn't changed is the narrative around Strong women. Why do people always assume I'm SO STRONG all of the time? Sometimes I wanna be a little duckling, dammit. Most importantly, How do we overcome trauma and tragedy and reclaim OUR power. This week I am virtually Joined by Jessica Ordoñez Barnett, the founder of The Lipstick Lens an event based community specifically for women in London. She has just recently interviewed Rose McGowan, one of the key pioneers for The #Metoo Movement, and the likes of Megan Barton Hansen from love island 2018 about internalised misogyny from men and women. Jess is a survivor, and has survived the absolute imaginable, you only need to hear this to know why. Everything she stands for is a testament to everything she has overcome. So, get some gin and maybe some tissues! Follow @Jackiebigtitspodcast on Instagram and Jess: @thelipsticklens_ Her website is: https://www.lipstickfeminist.com/

#EP15 - Toxic and not the Britney Spears Kind (feat. Ellie 'The Enthusiast' Kime and Harriet Adkin)

''I don't know what you're doing, but don't you know that you're toxic..'' where's my mesh cat suit with beads?? A-ha yes, not the Britney version, the JBT Version! In this episode I am joined by Ellie Kime, founder of The Enthusiast, she champions embracing your enthusiasm as a person, and Harriet Adkin who is also the founder of Burnt Orange City, where she celebrates and interviews cultural and emerging creative artists on her blog. We go into detail about those Toxic friendships, and relationships, and how damn addictive they are. Why is it so hard to let go? Furthermore, could I be the toxic friend? Surely we all have the ability to be a bit toxic. Also, the trouble with having a big personality and the pressure to perform. This was recorded pre covid 19, when we could actually go to the pub!
