Building Journeys of Jewish Growth

As much as we would like life's inspiriational experiences to last forever, the reality is that the amazing shabbatons, immersive heritage trips to Poland, and uplifting 3-day learning programs come to an end. And when those experiences wind down, the participants are not able to translate the highs and impact into everyday Jewish living. How can we as program builders, facilitators, and educators do more to help our students and participants experience the highs but also integrate them back into the mundanity of a 'regular' Shabbat and a routine learning experience?

Capturing Experiences

In every learning experience, there are participants and facilitators, speakers and listeners, lecturers and their audience, Rabbis/Rebbetzens and their congregants. How do we help our audience become owners over the learning experiences that we lead? What mechanisms can we as educators and Jewish leaders offer our audiences to enable them to capture their experiences and carry it forward beyond the experience to ensure it does not get lost?

How Jewish Leaders Maintain Their Ideals

This episode explores the challenge of day-to-day tasks that Jewish leaders encounter such as answering emails, text messages, and non-essential activities, where these tasks often take away from the idealistic passion of being a Jewish leader. Approaches for mitigating, negotiating, and delegating these tasks as well as other tools and tips are shared by Ilana and Effie in this fascinating conversation!
