When Her Daughter Went Missing, Prayer Gave this Mother the Information & Solace She Sought, with Maria Gallagher
When Maria Gallagher’s seven-year-old daughter went missing, she turned to prayer journaling, Scripture, and the intercession of the Blessed Mother as anchors in the storm. In this episode of Journal to Joy, we talk with Maria about journaling through fear and unanswered prayers, trusting God in moments of deep anxiety, cultivating a relationship with Mary, and offering each day to Christ through the Morning Offering. This conversation explores how prayer journaling can help Christian women hear God’s voice, remain faithful in suffering, and discover peace and joy in Christ even when answers are delayed.

There are many versions of the morning offering, but one of my personal favorites can be found here: Morning Offering Prayer [https://www.catholiccompany.com/content/morning-offering-prayer-oracion-de-la-manana]. While that particular prayer is Catholic in nature, any Christian can offer the joys and sorrows of their day to the Lord with a simple prayer. I often recite with my kids: "Father in Heaven, I give you this day / all that I think, and do, and say. / I give you the good times as well as the bad, / the times when I'm happy, the times when I'm sad. Amen."
