L-L lacrosse, volleyball teams still in line for state championships

And then there were five. At the start of the week - and aftermany local high schools have already held their graduation ceremonies - there were five Lancaster-Lebanon League teams still standing in the PIAA playoffs. Manheim Township in girls lacrosse. Manheim Township and Lampeter-Strasburg in boys lacrosse. And Hempfield and Manheim Central in boys volleyball. That's it. Those teams are gearing up for Tuesday's state semifinals, in hopes of reachingPIAA championships on Saturday. Don't look now, but the Lancaster-Lebanon League is down to a precious few teams for the 2025-26 school year, as the PIAA playoffs get started on the diamond and on the volleyball court. All of the spring sports playoffs are in full swing, and we're here to talk about it. The state track and field and boys tennis playoffs are in the books, with plenty of L-L top finishers to discuss. All of the Lancaster-Lebanon League spring sports individual and team champions have been crowned, as the calendar quickly approaches late May, and the weather starts heating up. Last week alone, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball and softball league champs hoisted gold trophies. And this past weekend, L-L athletes aplenty won titles at the District 3 track and field championships. That includes Cedar Crest senior Kaddel Howard, who shattered a record that was on the books since 1977.
