As we come to the closing of Colossians, we get valuable insight into the relational life of probably the most significant figure in the church following Christ's resurrection. This final personal greeting helps us see that the effective gospel-life, the fruitful Christian life, is inevitably relational. It's messy. It bruises. It is inconvenient. "Walking In Wisdom Towards Outsiders"

This week in Colossians, Paul challenges us to honor Christ while navigating relationships with unbelievers. He says to let our conversations to always be gracious and "seasoned with salt". This is especially hard when the "outsiders" are our own family. As we move into the final chapter in Colossians, Paul explains how living under Christ's lordship affects every relationship in our lives - even with those over us and under our authority. But, the word "authority" today often has significantly negative connotations. But authority is not a threat to human flourishing in scripture - it's necessary to it!
