What if a simple saliva test could help farmers build healthier goat herds? Dr. Emma Borkowski and her team are exploring that possibility by investigating whether goats capable of mounting a strong immune response to gastrointestinal nematodes can be identified through antibodies in their saliva. Their research provides guidelines for using the CARLA Test® under Canadian grazing conditions. In this episode, we visit the lab at the University of Guelph and a goat barn in Ontario to see how this work could help farmers improve herd immunity and animal health.
