The Trans & Gender Diverse Period Experience

In episode 3 of Let Me Tell You About My Period, we explore the trans and gender diverse menstruation experience. We ask and answer, Can trans men menstruate? We also look at period-like symptoms of trans women, discuss options for gender neutral period products, and interview two trans individuals about their experiences. Additionally, we discuss how the healthcare industry in the United States can better serve these communities. Liesl and Malea also acknowledge their period privilege and discuss period equity for the trans and gender queer communities. Priscilla's Period Stories + Period Inequity: "Period. End of Sentence."

In our second episode of Let Me Tell You About My Period, we interview millenial and pre-PA student, Priscilla, about her early period experiences, differentiating period symptoms from Crohn's disease symptoms, period taboos and norms in the Dominican Republic, and more. We'll also touch on sharks and bears! Oh, my! This is a long episode, but Priscilla and Malea share many relatable stories that we hope will help someone listening to feel less alone in their period journey. We then answer an Aunt Flow question: Can others smell your period? Finally, we finish with a look at period inequity through the lens of the short documentary, "Period. End of Sentence." which focuses on destigmatizing menstruation and supporting women and girls in India. Resources, a transcript, and more are available on our blog at LetMeTellYouAboutMyPeriod.com. As always, thanks for listening!
