Iceman finally dropped and Drake went all in. It's gotta be one of his best albums ever, but only time will tell. Almost 20 years in the game, with everyone turning against him, and he still managed to get everyone to forget while they're singing songs All Drake fans wanted was maybe a couple lines to address the beef but just bring out bangers, and he managed to do all that and more. It's basically a full hour of us glazing about Drake but.. what do you think about it? What are your thoughts on Iceman, or the other albums he's dropped? Do you think he's redeemed himself from the last few years? More details: Drake dropped three albums in one night. Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour, all at once, and we couldn't do anything until we sat down and went through Iceman properly. Fair warning up front, we glazed. We know. We had to restart the pod at one point because it got out of hand. The production is the first thing that got us. Noah 40 Shebib and the team made this thing sound so clean, every drum, every beat switch, and the whole Toronto rollout with Theo Skudra on the visuals only made it hit harder. From there we just went song by song. Make Them Cry, Whisper My Name, Janice STFU, Bees on the Table, the National Treasures DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard name drops, Burning Bridges and the Rihanna lines, Plot Twist, What Did I Miss. We got stuck for a while on the triple entendres nobody's catching. The MRI machine line, beep beep baby and the Mercedes Maybach with the heated seats, that whole "used to be a nice man, now I'm hot and cold" bit. And the title itself, is it the X-Men, is it Bobby Drake, is it the Michael Jackson glove, is it him freezing the whole industry. Take your pick. Then there's the beef, obviously. We got into Not Like Us, the UMG white label thing, Family Matters, Meet the Grahams, and whether any of it holds up next to what Kendrick did. One of us actually flipped sides on camera, so that happened. Jay-Z catches the 500k dinner line, which we've been waiting years for somebody to say out loud. We talked through the Akademiks reaction, Joe Budden's take, Anthony Fantano being Anthony Fantano. Kendrick fans, we still love you. Mostly. The features caught us off guard too. 21 Savage on the whole song for one line. Future and Molly Santana on Ran To Atlanta. Sexyy Red on Cheetah Print. Quavo somehow ending up on Shabang with no credit, which sent us down the Sicko Mode credit rabbit hole and why Drake actually hands out credit when most people don't. For the day ones we ended up back on Passion Fruit and the Do Not Disturb outro, going back and forth on whether this new outro beats it. But the part that got us out of our seats was the BC shout out. Vancouver, on the biggest song in the world. First time we've ever heard our city on a record this big, and with the World Cup halftime rumors going around, it kind of felt like our year. This one gets loose. It was the summer solstice, we were fried, and there's a Schumann resonance tangent in here we're not apologizing for. If you make it to the end, we really appreciate it!!
