Living on the Way
Hello there and welcome back to Living on the Way. In this episode we’re taking you through 48 hours in Waikiki, one of the most misunderstood places in Hawaii, but one we keep coming back to for its iconic city-meets-beach energy. We share why Waikiki can feel crowded and commercial and why that’s exactly what we love about it. Our weekend was all about decompressing: sunset beach time , ramen in the hotel, a full beach day with chairs and an umbrella, strolling the shops from local boutiques to luxury brands, and drinks at the Moana Surfrider’s beachside bar. We also reflect on attending the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day commemoration ceremony on December 7th for the 84th anniversary. We wrap up with how Waikiki felt after coming from quiet Maui, who Waikiki is (and isn’t) for, and a note that we’ll do a future episode breaking down how we spent a month in Hawaii using points, miles, and credit card perks.
