Descripción

In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall is joined by Kelcey Bumbalough, who preached this week’s message, Believe. Together, they walk through the story of Lazarus in John 11 and wrestle with a question many of us have asked: How do we believe God hears us in every situation, especially when He does not show up the way we expected? Mary and Martha believed Jesus could heal Lazarus, but when He did not arrive before Lazarus died, their hope collided with disappointment. Kendall and Kelcey discuss what it means to keep looking to Jesus in the middle of the storm, trust that struggle does not have to be the end, and believe even when God’s timing does not make sense. This episode is a reminder that experiencing disappointment is real, but we do not have to live in it. Because of Jesus, healing is possible, faith can grow, and the story is not over. Key Scripture: John 11:1–44 Matthew 14:30 Hebrews 12:1–2 Romans 8:28 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 Micah 7:7–8 Isaiah 53:4–5 Listen in and reflect: Can you still say “even now” when God does not move the way you hoped? 180churchtn.com [http://180churchtn.com]

New Things Part 3 New Community

In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the New Things series by exploring the importance of new community. Using Isaiah 43 and Hebrews 10, they discuss how God often does new things in us through the people He places around us. Together is God’s plan, but together is not always easy. Community requires intentional choice, commitment, encouragement, and the willingness to keep showing up. Kendall and Brad also look at the life of David and the key relationships that helped shape him into a man after God’s own heart. Samuel saw what others could not see. Jonathan helped David find strength in God. Nathan loved David enough to speak the truth. This episode is a reminder that we were not created to follow Jesus alone. We need people who see the best in us, seek God with us, and speak truth to us in love. Key Scripture: Isaiah 43:18–19 Hebrews 10:23–25 Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 1 Peter 5:8 Acts 13:22 1 Samuel 16:12–13 1 Samuel 23:15–16 2 Samuel 12:7 Proverbs 27:5–6 Listen in and reflect: Who is helping you follow Jesus more faithfully, and who are you helping follow Jesus more faithfully? 180churchtn.com [http://180churchtn.com]

New Things Part 2

In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall is joined by Kelcey, who preached this week’s message in the New Things series. Together, they discuss what it looks like to move from simply wanting new faith to practicing the spiritual strategies that help us stay connected to God. Building from Isaiah 43 and the story in Mark 9 and Matthew 17, this conversation explores what happens when we feel disconnected from God and too connected to the world. Kelcey unpacks Jesus’ words about prayer and fasting, showing how prayer reconnects us to God while fasting helps disconnect us from the distractions, desires, and patterns that compete for our hearts. Kendall and Kelcey also talk about honest faith, the father’s prayer, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief,” and why fasting is not about manipulating God for answers, but humbling ourselves so we can experience deeper intimacy with Him. Key Scripture: Isaiah 43:18–19 Mark 9:14–29 Matthew 17:14–20 Psalm 145:18 Psalm 139:23–24 Matthew 6:6 Matthew 6:16–18 2 Chronicles 20:3–4 Listen in and reflect: What do you need to disconnect from so you can reconnect with God? 180churchtn.com [http://180churchtn.com]

New Things Part 1

In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad begin a new conversation called New Things, New Faith, looking at Isaiah 43 and God’s promise: “See, I am doing a new thing!” Together, they reflect on how easy it is for faith to become familiar, routine, or tied to the past. But God continues to call us forward into fresh faith, renewed surrender, and a deeper awareness of what He is doing in our lives. Kendall and Brad discuss what it means to remember what God has already done, repent and turn fully toward Him, go all in with faith, move on from old history, hurts, and habits, and commit to finding and fulfilling our God given purpose in Christ. This episode is a reminder that God is still working, still restoring, and still making things new. Key Scripture: Isaiah 43:18–19 2 Corinthians 5:17–18 Psalm 103:10–12 Acts 3:19 Matthew 22:37 Colossians 3:17 Ephesians 2:10 Proverbs 16:3 Listen in and reflect: Where is God calling you into new faith? 180churchtn.com [http://180churchtn.com]

Final Words Part 3

In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad wrap up the Final Words series by looking at the hope of Easter and the life changing truth that the answer is Jesus. Using Romans 7 and 8, they discuss the struggle we all face between wanting to do what is right and still falling short. Paul’s honest words remind us that we cannot rescue ourselves from sin, shame, and brokenness. But Easter gives us the answer: through Jesus, condemnation is broken, sin no longer has the final word, and the Spirit gives us new life. Kendall and Brad also talk about repentance, the refreshing that comes from turning back to God, and how love for Jesus produces obedience. Following Christ is not just a Sunday moment. It is the daily lifestyle of a disciple, walking by the Spirit and surrendering to the One who makes us new. Key Scripture: Romans 7:15–25 Romans 8:1–4 Acts 3:19 John 14:15 Titus 2:11–12 Galatians 5:16 2 Peter 1:3–8 Listen in and reflect: Where do you need to stop trying to fix yourself and start surrendering to Jesus? 180churchtn.com [http://180churchtn.com]
