Episode 5- Game Control Quotient

When looking beyond the result to see what is actually happening in a game as a coach, you want to find something that show you who had control of both periods of the game and the game overall, hence I developed the Game Control Quotient. In this episode we explain and explore how the quotient works.

Episode 4- The Traffic Light System.

When looking beyond the results as a coach, I wanted to find a way to cut through and get a clear message to my team on how we were tracking during games and how we went overall after games, so hence the Traffic Light System. With technology improvements these days and the access to top quality camera's on most smart phones out there, the days where you need expensive equipment to do video analysis as a Sports Coach are well and truely over. In this episode we explore how easy it is for a coach to access game analysis and offer some very easy options that you can use.

When looking beyond the result as a coach it is important that the statistics that are used to analyse also matter, but so often the is a reliance on old, outdated statistics, well I say to Sports Coaches shake it up, select stats that matter to what you feel you and your players need to know, and also look to innovate come up with new stats to analyse what is happening.

In this first episode of Looking Beyond the Result we introduce what the series will be all about which is that as sports coaches we should look at more than just the win, loss or draw, we should dig deeper because its the digging deeper that tells us what really happened during the game.
