Majors & Minors at Cal Poly Humboldt
Welcome to Majors & Minors at Cal Poly Humboldt! This show takes a close look at the rich academic offerings of our campus and all of the areas of study that can be pursued as a student. Each episode features an interview with a department Chair or a Professor and focuses on the specifics of an area of study, specifically the value of that pursuit both during the college experience and beyond. This week Dr. Marissa Ramsier [https://www.humboldt.edu/anthropology/marissa-ramsier], Co-chair of the Department of Anthropology [https://www.humboldt.edu/anthropology] is on the show. We discussed her area of expertise and all different approaches to Anthropology that are available to students studying here at Cal Poly Humboldt. Anthropology is a holistic science dedicated to the study of human biological and cultural diversity and evolution. Anthropologists integrate methods and theories from across the sciences, arts, and humanities to study the many intriguing facets of humanity across space and time – from the earliest fossil humans to the more recent archaeological record and present-day cultures. The [https://www.humboldt.edu/applied-humanities]Department of Anthropology [https://www.humboldt.edu/anthropology] is housed inside the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences [https://www.humboldt.edu/cahss].
