Descripción

You definitely might wanna get buzzed for this one! We'll be getting into the History of Midwifery and Licensed Midwifery Law & Rule here in Florida. Which doesn't sound super exciting!! However the way things are progressing, especially with FL's political climate, it's important to know how we stripped a whole group of Midwives of Color, from being able to serve their communities. And how we're still struggling to bring more BIPOC people into the Midwifery world. ** DISCLAIMER ** Please excuse the poor sound quality and background noises in this episode, which was recorded several months ago when we were still figuring out all of our settings. Thank you for sticking through our awkwardness! And we'll happily revisit this topic again in the future, for a better quality recording! Resources for today's episode: 1. A Cascade of Intervention? Legislating Midwifery in Florida, 1920-1992, by Megan Bowes, from 2014. 2. Chapter 467 - FL Statute 3. 64B24-7 Midwifery Practices Act - FL Law & Rule Thank you for continuing to join us! Your support has been amazing! If you're a doula, midwife or parent who has some info or stories about the laws and history of midwifery in your area/region, please consider sending them to us at midwiveswithnolives@gmail.com or MwnLPod.com/connect. And if you're enjoying MwnL, we'd love your feedback, ratings & reviews!

Postpartum Anxiety, OCD & Psychosis

In honor of Mental Health Awareness month (May), we bring you this episode discussing postpartum anxiety, obssessive-compulsive disorder and psychosis. Please enjoy our interview with the loveliest soul, who ever-so-generously shared their personal experience with postpartum psychosis. If you're a doula, midwife or parent who has a story, some info or experience with any postpartum mood disorder, please consider sending them to us at midwiveswithnolives@gmail.com or MwnLPod.com/connect.
