Mighty Oaks Daily Devotional
Psalm 109 is one of the Bible’s imprecatory psalms, where David cries out for God to bring justice against those who have wronged him. He honestly pours out his pain, asking God to deal with his enemies. Yet after expressing his heart, David ends the psalm with confidence rather than bitterness: “I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth… for he shall stand at the right hand of the poor.” David understood that while he could bring his burdens to God, it was God who would ultimately fight his battles. The same is true for us today. We are called to pray honestly, seek God’s wisdom, and faithfully obey Him—but we are not called to carry the weight of vengeance or justice on our own. We can rest knowing that God sees every injustice, keeps every promise, and will act according to His perfect will. Trust Him with the battles you cannot win, and let your confidence rest in the God who faithfully fights for His people.
