Descripción

In this episode, we will talk about emotional codependency. How does this show up in your relationships? Do you think you were too over-responsible growing up as a child? Did you feel uncomfortable asking for your own needs? Did you get guilted for being disrespectful when you did not do what your parents wanted? Were you dismissed when you told your parents to stop doing something that hurt your feelings?  Emotional codependency often stems from childhood experiences where boundaries between the parent and child were blurred. Children who felt responsible for their parents' emotional states may grow into adults who struggle to differentiate their own needs from those of their parents. This can manifest as excessive caretaking, guilt over pursuing personal goals, or difficulty making decisions without parental approval.
