The Mission Matters: Two Missionaries Experiences Serving In Cuba.  My guests this week are Mr. Ryan Duran and Mr. Josh Jenkins, Missionaries to Cuba. “Only one life, twill soon be past; Only what’s done for Christ will last.”  ~ C.T. Studd There are approximately 450,000 missionaries around the world and the United States makes up 1 out of every 3.  This week’s guests describe what it was like to not only feel the calling to go abroad and serve others but what it was like to enter Cuba, a communist country where Christianity as a whole is not welcomed.   My guests Ryan Duran and Josh Jenkins have only been a tandem for just over two years, but their love for serving and desire to share their faith took them to a place that most Americans could never imagine. Regardless of your political favor or your religious beliefs, most people can admit that we have it pretty good here in America compared to a lot of countries around the world. Ryan and Josh share how their friendship came to be and how a “by chance” conversation led them to both wanting to bring humanitarian aid and share their faith in a third world country that is heavily stricken with poverty.  The country as they describe it is riddled with ran down buildings, a severe lack of food and an even greater need for clean drinking water.  Since it is a Communist country there are no political parties.  There is only the elite and the extreme poor.  This episode will definitely pull at your heart strings.  If you would like to learn more about their mission or maybe you would like to donate you can go to www.thehandsandfeetofchristjesus.org [http://www.thehandsandfeetofchristjesus.org]  Please continue to listen and support this podcast and be sure to check out my social media content on my website MotivateWithCoachCamp.com [http://MotivateWithCoachCamp.com]    👉 SPONSOR THIS PODCAST -  https://bit.ly/443wPRj [https://bit.ly/443wPRj] You can find the Motivate with Coach Camp [http://motivatewithcoachcamp.com] Podcast on YouTube, Apple, Spotify, TikTok, and Facebook Produced by Derrick Michaud and SRP Studios Podcasting [https://www.facebook.com/shelbyrowproductions]

episode KT Robbins, WWII Veteran - Celebrating 250 (REPLAY from 11/6/23) artwork

KT Robbins, WWII Veteran - Celebrating 250 (REPLAY from 11/6/23)

Imagine the year is 1941 and you awake to the news that Pearl Harbor has been attacked.  Now your country has been pulled into a World War that has cost so many their lives.  As a young male during those times, the thought of serving their country was never a second thought.  Young people even forged their age in order to enlist and go serve.  Fighting for America was a thing of honor and sacrificing their life for future generations was something so many of our service members did without a minutes consideration. This weeks guest proudly signed up and was eager to serve his country at a very young age.  Mr. Robbins enlisted as an infantryman and was heading off to Normandy for the big D-day invasion.  The moment that changed his entire story came when he saw the opportunity to become a chief.  So, instead of being a part of the initial wave of soldiers that hit the beach his boat stayed off shore for 4 days.  By the time his company was allowed to make shore there were already hundreds of dead soldiers lining the beach.  Mr. Robbins and his crew made entry into France and it wasn’t long before he settled into the town of Briea.   This is where our story really begins!  What happens next is something straight out of a blockbuster romantic movie.  KT falls in love with a young French girl and the rest is something you have to hear for yourselves.  I would do it no justice trying to describe the events that happened next.  Spoiler alert…I might have shed a tear or two, but they were most certainly happy tears.   👉 SPONSOR THIS PODCAST -  https://bit.ly/443wPRj [https://bit.ly/443wPRj] You can find the Motivate with Coach Camp [http://motivatewithcoachcamp.com] Podcast on YouTube, Apple, Spotify, TikTok, and Facebook Produced by Derrick Michaud and SRP Studios Podcasting [https://www.facebook.com/shelbyrowproductions]

Todd Pierce: Life After A Lung Transplant

Life After A Lung Transplant: Seeing Life Through A New Purpose.  My guest this week is Mr. Todd Pierce, Retired Southaven Police Officer. “I’ve always tried to live life to the fullest that I can, but even more so now that I have been given life twice.”  ~ L. Barnett To have a heart to serve means that you are willing to put others before yourself.  This week’s guest had done just that for his entire adult life.  My guest Todd Pierce is a retired Southaven police officer which spent 26 years serving on the front lines.  Putting others first was something that came natural to him, as it does with most first responders.  It is this train of thought which also makes it very difficult to accept help from others when in a time of need. Todd describes how he grew up a healthy, athletic boy and into his adult years he was an avid runner.  Then out of nowhere he noticed he was having more difficulty than normal catching his breath.  As time went on this shortness of breath got worse and eventually it led him to pursuing a diagnosis and going through a litany of tests. He said he had suspicions that he may have the same lung disease his sister was diagnosed with a few years prior and unfortunately those suspicions came true.  He was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis with non-specific interstitial pneumonia**.**  This meant that eventually he would require a lung transplant to save his life.  We discuss what that process was like, the guilt that comes with receiving someone else’s organ and what life was like through recovery.  If you or someone you know may be in need of an organ transplant then this episode is one you don’t want to miss. Chad Wicker: Serving On All Fronts | Hernando Alderman Ward 4

Serving On All Fronts: From Leading The Jail To Leading In The Community.  My guest this week is Hernando Alderman Ward 4 and Head of the Tate County Jail Mr. Chad Wicker. “Press forward. Do not stop, do not linger in your journey, but strive for the mark set before you.”  ~ G. Whitefield My guest this week shares how he started to find his path in serving the community when he started his job at the DeSoto County jail in Hernando, MS.  He wasn’t just going through the motions as a jailer when he was at work.  Mr. Wicker explains how he recognized there was a much bigger picture to look at and he wanted to make a difference. Mr. Wicker said he knew that many times it was the same offenders over and over again.  Instead of just writing them up to being a lost cause he wanted to gain better understanding as to why they kept coming back and how that could be altered.   Mr. Wicker explains that the first thing you have to do is get to know each person and find out what behaviors they continue to follow that lead them back to jail.  For many it is usually drugs and alcohol that influence poor decision making.  This meant that there needed to be more effort put forth in rehab and recovery.  Along with that Mr. Wicker knew that allowing for the opportunity to gain their education can lead to better outcomes when they leave jail.  So programs designed to help individuals gain their GED and learn a vocation is now available to those that are interested. Mr. Wicker’s ability to see society from the spectrum of community with his position as an alderman and his ability to influence how differences can be made in the jails to create better circumstances, is a full circle perspective.  Mr. Wicker is now the head jailer at the Tate County jail and continues to serve as an Alderman in Hernando, MS.   In addition to his public service Mr. Wicker also produces a podcast called “The Round About Round Up”.  Also, if you have items that you would like to donate to the jail you can find out how by going to cwicker@tatecountyms.gov [cwicker@tatecountyms.gov]  Please continue to listen and support this podcast and be sure to check out my social media content on my website MotivateWithCoachCamp.com [http://MotivateWithCoachCamp.com]  Also, if you are interested in becoming an official sponsor of this podcast please click the link below to learn more.  This episode was recorded at SRP Studios and Produced by Shelby Row Productions LLC ShelbyRowProductions.com [http://ShelbyRowProductions.com]   👉 SPONSOR THIS PODCAST -  https://bit.ly/443wPRj [https://bit.ly/443wPRj] 🔗 WEBSITE - http://www.motivatewithcoachcamp.com [http://www.motivatewithcoachcamp.com] 📺 WATCH - YouTube [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA2NYLA-b6Cp3oFn-5Mk7Kg] and Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/MotivatewithCoachCamp/] 🎧 LISTEN - Apple [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/motivate-with-coach-camp/id1653465516] and Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/show/0VU3FauCURe558WBUHOZCK?si=155cb61ddb3a472e]   This episode was recorded at SRP Studios and Produced by Shelby Row Productions LLC SRPStudiosLLC.com [http://srpstudiosllc.com]

Rising From the Ashes: Alan Presson | Memphis Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic

Rising From the Ashes: A Firefighter’s Phoenix Story.  My guest this week is Mr. Alan Presson, Memphis Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic and Endurance Athlete. “Press forward. Do not stop, do not linger in your journey, but strive for the mark set before you.”  ~ G. Whitefield This week’s guest is retired fire lieutenant from the City of Memphis fire department Mr. Alan Presson.  Alan joined the Memphis fire department in 2002 and happened to be in my recruit class.  Alan and I became good friends during that time and stayed in touch after graduating from the academy.  However, it was 2004 when we really grew in our relationship after learning that he and I both were running in the St. Jude half-marathon.  In our discussion we share how running became a huge part of our life and in a few years we would hold the incredible honor of being the first and second person to ever complete an Ironman as active employees of the Memphis Fire Department.   As some may know that follow the show, I had to retire in 2016 due to shoulder injuries sustained while firefighting.  It is no secret that firefighting is a dangerous and labor intensive job, especially in a large city where it is not uncommon to fight 5 or more fires in a given month.  In addition to the physical injuries that happen every year to firefighters, there is always the threat of dying in a fire. This horrible reality had happened more than once during our career with one loss being my Lieutenant was killed in a fire and another loss being my one of our classmates.  Alan shares how he faced this real possibility when he was upstairs in a house fire looking for the seed of the fire when the room he was in  suddenly flashed over and left him falling back on his training and fortunately finding the nozzle just in time to hold off the flames until he could be rescued.  Although he sustained several deep burns on his arms and abdomen Alan admits that he was fortunate that a few things went his way or things could have been much worse.    Please continue to listen and support this podcast and be sure to check out my social media content on my website MotivateWithCoachCamp.com [http://MotivateWithCoachCamp.com]  Also, if you are interested in becoming an official sponsor of this podcast please click the link below to learn more.  This episode was recorded at SRP Studios and Produced by Shelby Row Productions LLC ShelbyRowProductions.com [http://ShelbyRowProductions.com]      👉 SPONSOR THIS PODCAST -  https://bit.ly/443wPRj [https://bit.ly/443wPRj] 🔗 WEBSITE - http://www.motivatewithcoachcamp.com [http://www.motivatewithcoachcamp.com] 📺 WATCH - YouTube [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA2NYLA-b6Cp3oFn-5Mk7Kg] and Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/MotivatewithCoachCamp/] 🎧 LISTEN - Apple [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/motivate-with-coach-camp/id1653465516] and Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/show/0VU3FauCURe558WBUHOZCK?si=155cb61ddb3a472e]   This episode was recorded at SRP Studios and Produced by Shelby Row Productions LLC SRPStudiosLLC.com [http://srpstudiosllc.com]
