My guest today is Bill Russell, Program Director for The Daily Mile USA, an initiative that aims to improve the physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being of children through 15 minutes of daily, self-paced movement. [https://www.thedailymile.us/] Bill is also a husband and proud father of four, with more than 20 years of experience in education. He began his career in the classroom and on the field, teaching biological science, health, and physical educationwhile coaching football, baseball, basketball, and lacrosse. He later spent 16 years in school leadership, working side by side with teachers to help students develop a love of learning that lasts well beyond their school years. Today, Bill is especially passionate about supportingteachers—because when teachers are supported, students thrive. He believes The Daily Mile is a simple yet powerful tool that not only builds healthy physical habits but also strengthens social, emotional, and mental well-being while improving academic outcomes.
