30. Book Club Episode 1: We Will Not Cancel Us: And Other Dreams of Transformative Justice” by adrienne maree brown
The Peer Support program Presents our first Book Club episode of Our First Year! The goal of this series is to provide our listeners with the information and tools held in books and give it back to you all. It is meant encourage the act of reading, but you do not need to read any of the books we discuss to listen. We will talk about a book we love and see how the information applies to us as college students. The first book we discuss is “We Will Not Cancel Us: And Other Dreams of Transformative Justice” by adrienne maree brown, a book that reframes the discussion of “cancel culture” for us, in a way that points to possible paths beyond this impasse.

In SDI and the Peer Support Program, we always say the work of diversity and inclusion takes a community. We also name that it can feel hard if you feel like you have not found an on campus community yet. In this episode of Our First Year, peer mentor Mar talks with campus about how normal it actually is to still feel like you a searching for your place on campus.
