Out Loud with Jante
In this deeply personal spoken word episode, I offer my insight on the two very different sides of trauma-induced silence. One woman finally finds the courage to speak after years of believing her voice did not matter. The other hides her pain beneath survival, distractions, addiction, chaos, over-functioning, and the appearance of strength. Though their responses look completely different on the surface, both are carrying wounds that refuse to remain silent. “When Silence Learns to Scream” explores the reality that trauma does not disappear simply because it is ignored. What we refuse to confront will eventually speak through our behaviors, relationships, choices, coping mechanisms, and even the ways we attempt to survive. In this raw and honest reflection on healing, grief, survival, and emotional honesty, I also share how writing became the first place my healing began—before I ever found the courage to speak my truth aloud. This episode is an invitation to confront what has been buried beneath silence for far too long and to begin the journey toward healing with honesty and compassion. Listeners are also invited to download my free “Write to Heal” journal from my website, www.jantegibsonbryant.com, as a tool to help jumpstart their own healing journey through reflection, honesty, and release.
