hi again friends!! i have had a hard time motivating myself during my 6 month hiatus, but here i am! i’ve been going through a difficult time so i wanted to ease back into uploading with an episode that dealt with something that i have (thankfully) overcome. in this sesh i go through what planted the idea of insecurities into my child brain and how that affected my self esteem in high school, the unrealistic beauty standards we set for ourselves based on our society and home life, how normalized it is to judge people based on their physical appearance regardless of age, gender or weight, and how our relationship with food can become unhealthy if it’s fueled by self hate. struggling with body dysmorphia and hating what you see in the mirror is a truly isolating experience, but we have to remind ourselves that sometimes our brain tricks us into being mean to ourselves. no one deserves to feel like the body they’re in isn’t good enough. it’s a long and bumpy journey to self acceptance besties, but i know that once you start feeling appreciation for your body for simply keeping you alive, you slowly realize that’s all that you need :)
