Pain To Joy
In this week’s episode recorded 1 month ago, Danielle speaks to how present moment awareness, mindfulness and breath breaks are gifts we can give ourselves to help interrupt patterns of rumination, anxious thoughts and overwhelm. She shares a snippet of the post-operative challenges she’s experienced since the laparoscopic myomectomy to remove a uterine fibroid nearly 13 weeks ago. She reminds listeners that when they reflect on past events that they wish were different, “Just because things could’ve been different, doesn’t mean they would’ve been better.” Danielle guides listeners through simple breathing tools to help them come back to their breath, return to the present, and experience more moments of peace. She shares a Corrie Ten Boom quote that grounds her in the here and now, “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” She invites listeners to celebrate all that they have overcome thus far, and to embrace the present moment, whatever it may hold.
