Why did they build Fountains Abbey? I make art to explore my recent conversion to Catholicism.I always need a genuine reason to make art; I always want to help people in some way. I want to learn about where my newly found faith comes from and how the faithful live and die. As a Yorkshire born Catholic, I choose a Yorkshire monastery as my subject material; Fountains Abbey is one of the many ruined monasteries in Yorkshire but it was once a complete building and home to thousands of the faithful over hundreds of years.
