Parshat Shelach (Numbers 13:1–15:41) consists of 119 verses. According to traditional Masoretic statistics, it contains 1,540 Hebrew words and 5,820 Hebrew letters We will also examine the events that lead to the slide and eventual exile for 40 years in the desert. Why the 10 leaders, despite experiencing the daily miracles which started back in Egypt, crossing of the Sea of Reeds, daily water and manna and yet still did not have faith in Hashem. (CALEB ALTHOUGH FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, REALLY was from the clan of edom that converted… edom today represents the Christians THAT MOVED AWAY FROM HER JEWISH ROOTS… AND IN THE LAST DAYS…WILL COME TO THEIR JEWISH ROOTS AND GRAFT THEMSELVES back TO ISRAEL…. AND ONLY THE TWO WILL COME into the Kindom..THE JEWS AND THE CHRISTIIAN CONVERTS THAT HAVE BEEN CALLED AND AWAKEN FROM ITS JEWISH ROOTS….. THEY REPRSENTS THE GRAFTED BELIEVERS AS HE HAS A DIFF SPIRIT… Numbers Chapter 25 · The Reward: God grants Pinchas the "Covenant of Peace" and the eternal priesthood (Kehunah) for his zealotry in halting the deadly plague. · The Identities: The unnamed man and woman executed at the end of the previous portion are identified as Zimri (a prince of Simeon) and Cozbi (a Midianite princess). Chapter 26 · The Command to Attack: God commands Israel to harass and defeat the Midianites for using entrapment and sin to destroy the camp. · The New Census: Moses and Elazar count the military-aged men (20 and older) of the new generation. The total count is 601,730, revealing that the old generation has completely died out in the desert. · Land Allocation: God instructs that the Land of Israel be divided among the tribes based on population size and by casting holy lots. Numbers Chapter 27 · Daughters of Zelophehad: Five sisters (Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah) successfully petition Moses for their deceased father’s land inheritance, prompting God to establish the Torah’s laws of inheritance. · Succession of Leadership: God tells Moses to look at the Promised Land from the mountain because he will soon die. Moses begs for a successor, and God chooses Joshua. Moses publicly ordains Joshua before the entire nation. Numbers Chapters 28 and 29 · The Liturgical Calendar: God commands the detailed schedule of public communal offerings (Korbanot), transitioning the nation from spontaneous worship to structured consistency. · The Offerings Listed: o Daily: The morning and afternoon constant offerings (Tamid). o Weekly: The additional offerings for Shabbat. o Monthly: The offerings for the New Moon (Rosh Chodesh). o Annual Festivals: The specific additions (Musaf) for Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot (including the 70 bulls), and Shemini Atzeret.

Moses strikes a rock for water instead of speaking to it, barring him and Aaron from entering Israel. · Aaron’s Death: Aaron dies on Mount Hor, and his son Eleazar becomes High Priest. · The Copper Serpent: To cure a plague of venomous snakes, Moses builds a bronze serpent on a pole. · Military Victories: Israel defeats Sihon the Amorite and Og of Bashan, conquering East Jordan. Parsha Balak (Numbers 22:2–25:9) Balak shifts focus entirely to external enemies trying to destroy Israel through curses and seduction. · Balak’s Fear: King Balak of Moab fears Israel and hires Balaam, a non-Jewish prophet, to curse them. · The Talking Donkey: Balaam’s donkey sees an angel blocking the path, speaks to Balaam, and saves his life. · Curses Turned to Blessings: Balaam tries to curse Israel three times, but God forces him to utter beautiful blessings instead (including Mah Tovu). · The Sin of Baal-Peor: Foiled by prophecy, Midianite and Moabite women seduce Israeli men into idolatry. A plague breaks out, halted only when Phinehas takes decisive action.

We come to balak who was a wicked Gentile King and he's the one who had the bright idea to hire the Prophet The Wicked Prophet Balaam to come into curse the Jewish people. Finally but then with Phineas or Pincus we find a very very righteous Jewish man whose Act of zeal for God is was so memorable, that averted the plague, and so marked that God established them a Brit Shalom a covenant of Peace. WHY IS Evil people’s name included as part of the Torah? WHAT IS HAHSEM TELLING US BY HAVING EVEN THOSE men like korah and Balak THAT LEAD ISRAEL ASTRAY GIVEN HONOUR…. SPEAKS OF HASHEM’S GREATNESS THAT EVEN IN TRAGEFY… EVEN IN DARKNESS… THERE IS GOODNESS THAT CAN COME OUT….. can be learned. WE CELEBRATED THE START OF THE MONTH OF TAMMUZ LAST MONDAY NIGHT…. AND ONE OF THEMES OF THE MONTH IS “SIGHT”….. AND EVIL EYE IS WHEN WE TRY TO ENVY OR ARE JEALOUS ABOUT OTHERS, AND THIS IS WHTA WE WILL SEE IN THIS PARSAH IN THE LIFE OF KORACH…. • WHO IS KORACH? ·WHAT DOES HIS NAME MEAN? ·WHY IS THE 250 MEN CALLED “THE SINNERS”? ·HOW IS THE ROD OF AARON CONNECTED TO THE PROPHECY OF THE MESSIAH?
