Risse Street Park/ The Bronx Hello and welcome to a new episode of Picture Perfect City Radio. This episode I’m talking about some of the experiences of autumn in New York The connection between poetry and photography and the reading of new poem. City Harvest It’s autumn in the city It’s a harvest of experiences It’s the crunching of orange and rose colored leaves under your shoes momentarily blocking the sound of traffic from your ears It is walks through postcard looking parks Even better when someone is holding your hand  It’s erratic weather forecasts  Yesterday felt like spring, but now it doesn’t  Less fresh fruit street vendors and more guys selling knit caps and gloves with weak thread counts It’s small hot cups of coffee or tea to fend off any chills while waiting for the bus Will it ever come? Families and friends gathering for feasts to display gratitude as noisy radiators conduct their symphonies and strangers seek shelters in corners that become even more unforgiving as the calendar counts down  Yesterday felt like spring, but now it doesn’t. Home Spaces

In the latest episode of Picture Perfect City Radio I talk about how New York City offers many places that you can call “home” without actually living there. The city’s greatest appeal is the diversity of experiences that exist, and these experiences are most defined by location, from history in Harlem, to the sights and tastes of Flushing, Queens, to the corners of Greenwich Village, but many neighborhoods offer more than just an excursion or work locale for city dwellers, these places can offer comfort, a sense of belonging, and respite.
