Why 'Hands-On Dad' Shouldn't Be a Compliment + Orson's Surgery Update

Hey everyone! We're back with another episode where we get real about life, marriage, and parenting. First, Orson opens up about his Crohn's disease journey and the difficult decision to move forward with surgery after 7 years of trying different medications and treatments. We talk about feeling like a "failure" for not being able to heal naturally, accepting help from modern medicine, and how this might actually be the path to becoming the athlete he's always wanted to be. Then Lindsay goes OFF about something that's been bothering her - why do we praise dads for being "hands-on" when that should just be... being a dad? We dive deep into the low bar set for fathers, how to communicate your needs in a relationship without trying to change your partner, and why some of those "amazing husband" posts on social media make us cringe. We also get into the tough stuff - what to do when your partner isn't stepping up, why therapy should be preventative not crisis intervention, and Lindsay's very strong opinions about divorce (Orson thinks she's a little too casual about it 😅). Fair warning: This one gets ranty, especially Lindsay. We're talking about real relationship dynamics, the importance of knowing what you actually want, and why actions always speak louder than words. Also - we're going to be MIA for a few weeks due to weddings and family stuff, so this will have to hold you over until August 18th. Sorry not sorry! As always, we're not therapists, just two people who've been going to therapy consistently for 4-5 years and have some thoughts. Let us know what you think!
