bonus episode: turning the page - a live podcasting event

Hey baby, long time no talk. We’re back with a bonus episode from our second live podcasting event, Turning the Page. We partnered with Little District Books, D.C.’s resident all-Queer bookstore, to share the history of Queer bookstores in the District. Featuring Susan, a former assistant manager from Lambda Rising, Jane a Lambda Rising manager and owner of Lammas, and Patrick owner of Little District Books, you don’t want to miss this lively panel full of memories, advice, book recs, and more! Since this was recorded live, the format of this episode will feel very different than our typical content. If you’re new to Queering the District Podcast, might we suggest heading to another episode in season one as your starting point. We also have a video version, the best way to enjoy the episode, available on our https://youtu.be/RlVtBI4cSjI%20https://youtu.be/RlVtBI4cSjIYouTube page [https://youtu.be/hMA-4inTe3U] and our website queeringthedistrictpodcast.com [https://www.queeringthedistrictpodcast.com/]. This audio episode will also only feature the first 30 minutes of the event. If you would like to see photos of the bars, watch the panelists play some silly games, and hear the audience Q&A, head to the video version of the hour-long panel. But, if you prefer to stay here, don’t worry, you can listen to it too! You can find a pdf version of the transcript for this episode here [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CjdCwmTfSMKLfsa8tjEUcZwekPZv6ig3/view?usp=drive_link] or on our website [https://www.queeringthedistrictpodcast.com/turningthepage], as well as transcripts for all of our episodes. bonus episode: gays and graves - a live podcasting event

Hey baby, long time no talk. We’re back with a bonus episode from our first live podcasting event in October, Gays and Graves. We partnered with the Congressional Cemetery, which is home to what is affectionately known as the gay corner, a plot where iconic Queer individuals and Queer D.C. residents alike are buried. Jeff Rollins, cemetery docent and gay expert, was kind enough to share with us some of the stories of the individuals buried at the cemetery. Since this was recorded live, the format of this episode will feel very different than our typical content. The event was held outside, so the audio quality is a little lower than normal, and you’ll hear a siren or two and someone blaring their music in their car in the background. You know, the charms of D.C. If you’re new to Queering the District Podcast, might we suggest heading to another episode in season one as your starting point. We also have a video version, the best way to enjoy the episode, available on our YouTube page [https://youtu.be/RlVtBI4cSjI%20https://youtu.be/RlVtBI4cSjI] and our website queeringthedistrictpodcast.com [http://queeringthedistrictpodcast.com]. The video version will include a corresponding powerpoint and graphics with pictures of the people and gravesites we talk about throughout, which helps tie everything together more neatly, so we suggest heading that way now. But, if you prefer to stay here, don’t worry, you can listen to it too! You can find a pdf version of the transcript for this episode here [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cgZtpWrn2He93XLnCasueYIr3uMP5AKv/view?usp=sharing] or on our website [https://www.queeringthedistrictpodcast.com/], as well as transcripts for all of our episodes. We want to thank Jeff, Spark Social [https://spark-dc.com/], and the Congressional Cemetery [https://congressionalcemetery.org/] for partnering with us on this amazing event. If you’re sad you missed this event, keep your eyes and ears peeled because we may have a new live podcasting event coming your way soon, so be sure to follow us on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/queeringthedistrictpodcast/?hl=en], Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61571249297055], TikTok [https://www.tiktok.com/@queeringthedistrictpod], and YouTube [https://www.youtube.com/@QueeringtheDistrictPodcast] to stay up to date on all things Queering the District Podcast.
