An Update and What's to Come
Hey y'all! In this week's episode we give a quick update on where we've been over the last few months and talk about what we have planned. We discuss the medical system, the challenge of advocating for yourself vs. for clients, and Bonnie's upcoming graduation. We have some great content planned but we'd love to hear from you. Let us know what topics you'd like for us to discuss.
Finding a therapist
Finding a therapist can be a daunting task. In tonight's episode, we try to demystify therapy a little and make finding a therapist a little less anxiety inducing. We start by simply defining psychotherapy and discussing who is licensed to provide it. We break down the alphabet soup of letters after people's names so you feel more empowered to find the provider who his right for you. We give some of our best tips for finding a therapist in the sea of potential providers, how to get the most out of a 15 minute consult, and some red flags to watch out for. Need a visual and potential questions to ask in a 15 minute consult? Check out the handout we put together on our website at https://www.coupleoftherapists.com/resources.
