You are not responsible for what you’ve done but you’re responsible for what you do now
Big thanks to Jeff J for visiting us and telling us his story! Our favorite line from this show was: You’ve got a disease. You are not responsible for what you’ve done but you’re responsible for what you do now. Your disease is incurable. The most we are going to be able to do is put it into remission. We are going to give you a program to follow, 12 steps. You follow that program and your disease will stay in remission. You stop following that program and the disease is going to kick you in the ass again.
Hiding Anna
Anna had a humble Midwest upbringing but thrust herself into the fast lane in New York then LA where the lifestyle caught up and Anna lost herself. She's been working hard to reconnect with the essence of who she really is without the escape hatch of booze and drugs. Welcome home Anna! Who you really are is a miracle and a bright light.
Are You Done Yet?
Today we are joined by our friends, Julie Funkhouser and Meredith Speir, who tell us about their personal and professional journeys. Julie and Meredith are cofounders of The Recovery Connection, a trauma-informed addiction treatment center intentionally designed to inspire a purpose-driven healing experience on the path to freedom. We discuss resilience and adversity in recovery and business, as well as the gifts and beauty that have come as the result of a purpose-driven life. www.trc-va.com [https://www.trc-va.com]
