When the Israelites began to take the Promised Land, the first obstacle in their path was the city of Jericho. It was a walled city that was considered impenetrable. However, although the Israelites couldn't get past the walls of Jericho, God could make them tumble.

It speaks of God's immense love for humanity; however, sometimes that keeps us from seeing the fullness of God's character and nature. It is true that God is a God of love; however, it is also true that He is a God of wrath who will judge our sins. Our stubborn sinfulness can push Him to the point where He says, "Enough is enough!" That's the message of Nahum.

Looking Back to Move Forward

One of the keys to a successful walk with Christ is forgetting the past and pressing toward the future. However, there are some things that the Bible says we should remember. Our problem is that we often forget what we should remember and remember what we should forget. To move forward in Christ, we need to remember the goodness and faithfulness of God and allow that to encourage us as we press on toward the future.
