Descripción

Welcome or welcome back to Rewired! Today's episode is something quite different from the usual. Here, I introduce a few intended changes and developments for the future of the podcast! As I near university, I have started reflecting upon my interests and academic goals, exploring the field of Sociology. This is pushed me to broaden my scope interest-wise, which has of course influenced the future of Rewired. Listen on to find out what changes have been made :) Let me know your thoughts!

Caught in Your Thoughts? — The Psychology of Rumination

Ever lay in bed with an exhausted body, yet running mind. This episode, I discuss the psychology behind rumination, or overthinking - what it is, how it happens, how it affects us, and how to mitigate it! episode Academic Catch-Up: Researching Theory of Mind @ Cambridge University artwork

Academic Catch-Up: Researching Theory of Mind @ Cambridge University

This summer, I spent two weeks at Cambridge digging into that question through a psychology project on Theory of Mind, which is our ability to recognize that other people think, feel, and believe differently from us. In this episode, I’m sharing what I learned: the history of Theory of Mind, why it’s been misunderstood in autism research, how culture changes the way it develops, and what my biggest takeaways were. A more personal, behind-the-scenes episode! Liar Liar — Lies We Tell, And The Psych Behind Them

Why do we lie; even about small things? In this episode, we dive into the psychology behind lying: from white lies to self-deception, what drives us to bend the truth? We explore categories of lies, the reasons we lie, how it affects our mental health and relationships, and whether honesty is always the best policy.
