Professor Fiona Robson, Head of Edinburgh Business School and School of Social Sciences at Heriot-Watt University Dubai, shares her journey in higher education, starting with her degrees in Human Resources and progressing through various academic and HR roles. She emphasises the importance of making a difference for students and strategic career planning. Professor Robson discusses challenges related to age and gender, the value of strong female mentors, and advises aspiring women leaders to seek feedback, take on challenging roles, and balance administrative duties with academic development. In her current role, she enjoys the multicultural environment of Dubai and contributing to a globally integrated university.
