Screaming into the Mic Podcast
Mengchao comes to the Region of Waterloo as a transplant from the United States. Winding her way from Wall Street to Canada had her re-evaluate what is important in life. Mengchao decided to launch Wu Ceremics full-time in 2020 and clay became a lifesaver for her during the pandemic. Her work connects themes of Chinese identity, immigration, and human relationships. Mengchao’s pedagogy revolves around showing people that everyone can be an artist and welcoming everyone to explore the wheel.
