What is the Purpose of Life?

Most people spend their lives chasing things without ever asking what life is actually for. According to 1 Thessalonians 4, the purpose of life is to live in a way that pleases God. This includes pursuing holiness, loving other believers more and more, and serving others beyond yourself. God's design for human sexuality is part of that holiness, and sexual sin pulls a person away from God rather than toward Him. The road to eternal life is narrow, and few find it because most people are chasing everything but God. Staying inside God's guardrails does not save you, but walking with the One who has never left them does. If you find yourself outside those guardrails, the answer is simple: come back. He is on the inside, waiting.

Teach us to Pray

Prayer is one of the most important yet most neglected parts of the Christian life. Jesus gave His disciples a clear framework for prayer in Matthew 6, not as a script to repeat, but as a template to follow. The Lord's Prayer covers six key areas: worship, welcoming God's kingdom, surrendering to His will, bringing real needs, confessing and forgiving, and asking for protection from temptation. Starting with worship before requests changes the posture of your heart entirely. Private prayer matters deeply, and even Jesus regularly withdrew from crowds to spend uninterrupted time with the Father. God is not a vending machine, He is a Father who desires honest, daily conversation with His children. You are not interrupting God when you pray. You are His child, and He is waiting to hear from you.

This encounter changed his name to Israel, meaning one who wrestles with God, and marked him with a permanent limp. The blessing transformed everything - when Jacob finally met Esau, instead of violence, there was miraculous reconciliation. This story teaches us that persistent faith in seeking God's blessing, even through struggle, leads to divine transformation and favor.

They're Already Here

The spiritual war between good and evil isn't coming—it's already here. From Ezekiel's ancient vision of cherubim to modern UFO phenomena, spiritual beings have always been active around us. While Satan entered Judas to destroy, and fallen angels once mixed with humans creating the Nephilim, God offers something greater. Through the virgin birth, Jesus became the perfect union of divine and human. Today, believers experience this same miraculous joining when the Holy Spirit enters their lives. The question isn't whether you'll encounter spiritual forces, but which one will possess your life—the spirit that wins or the one that loses.
