By age 7‑12 she had mastered silence and “safe” responses, leaving her inner voice curled inward. As an adult she second‑guessed, over‑explained or blurted, feeling her voice wasn’t truly hers. Voice center themes: The throat is a bridge between inner knowing and outer reality; when blocked we lose rhythm, timing and the power to name what matters. Trauma creates over‑coupling (truth fused with danger; visibility fused with punishment) or under‑coupling (disconnected voice, hollow words, smiling through freeze). Energetic & vagal insights: Quoting Barbara Brennan, Eman notes that a blocked throat leaves us stifled and creatively barren; we lose energy from our core Essence. The vagus nerve links throat and heart—when the voice is stifled, belonging and pleasure suffer. Suppressing your voice isn’t harmless; it’s systemic, not your fault. Somatic practice – humming (ujjayi) breath: Sit comfortably and breathe slowly through your nose, closing your lips. As you exhale, constrict the back of your throat as if fogging a mirror with your mouth closed; make a gentle humming or “ha” sound. Think or whisper: “My truth is safe with me.” Let the sound ripple through your throat and chest, releasing tension and resetting your vagus nerve. It can be inaudible or audible, practiced anywhere.
