Chapter 1: A Restless Night

A Restless Night of Decisions, Destiny, and the Power of the Past In the sweltering heat of a monsoon-soaked New Delhi in 2047, a 47-year-old man lies awake, burdened by a life-altering decision. Seeking solace, he retreats to his treasured library—a sanctuary for rare books in a world where the written word is a fading relic. As he flips through the pages of Akbar the Ain-e-Akbari and the Bhavishya Puran, he searches for answers in the wisdom of the past. Guided by memories of his mentor and the quiet strength of his wife, he finds clarity in the stillness of the night. But what decision weighs so heavily on his mind? And how will it shape the future of the world he calls home? This is the first chapter in the novel, Shatabdi: The Next Hundred Years.
