I'm Stefanie Rhodes, a health educator and reformed public health professional and in this week's episode, we will be discussing some of the most controversial headlines in public health and oddly enough the Royal Family. Topics: Meghan and Harry (Megan the Stallion); Has the American Academy of Pediatrics lost it's goddamn mind re: Weight Loss Meghan and Harry: Let's talk about the Netflix documentary, the book tour, and Spare, Tyler Perry's House AAP new recommendation: Children 6 years or older should be annually tested for obesity through methods like body mass index (BMI) checks and motivational interviews. They then recommend the use of weight loss drugs in children 12 years of age in younger for the sole purpose of weight loss. Children 13 and older should be considered as candidates for weight loss surgery. This is a public episode.
