Matt Stewart played football for the love of the game as a walk-on at Northwestern University in the 1990s and has authored an excellent book about his experience, "The Walk-On" . Matt endured the hard work and hard path of someone who wasn't recruited at all, trying the earn respect and playing time. By persevering he became part of one of the greatest turnarounds in college football history! Under Coach Gary Barnett, the Wildcats won two Big Ten titles and fulfilled his promise to take the "Purple to Pasadena." Matt has taken those lessons and rewards from his college experience to a long successful career as a respected journalist and news reporter for Kansas City's Fox 4 Morning Show. Author, journalist and now social media advocate for those facing cancer journeys, Matt is living his life pursuing big dreams. Also joining the podcast for the first time, Darren Schmadeke from Albion, Nebraska and longtime resident of Trenton, Missouri who walked on at Nebraska University and was a part of two national championship squads coached by the great Tom Osborne.
