Uplifting the Narratives of BIPOC LGBTQ+ Child Sexual Abuse Survivors with Mirror Memoirs

Hi all! For this episode of Jaago Hudson, we were able to sit down with Amita Swadhin (they/them), the founder of Mirror Memoirs. Mirror Memoirs is an organization that focuses on uplifting the narratives of BIPOC LGBTQ+ child sexual abuse survivors. We were able to have an in-depth discussion regarding societal systems that prevent survivors from coming forward, such as ageism, and the tremendous lack of resources present for all age groups. We took a critical look at the school education system, where we noticed that Health classes often stigmatized such topics. However, this in and of itself is what prevents many child sexual abuse survivors from actually coming forward. It was a pleasure to talk to Amita, and we hope that you all liked this episode!
