Take It Easy - Jesus' Easy Yoke & Light Burden
In the last episode of the season, Joshua and I talk about Jesus' offer: to give us His easy yoke and light burden. What does that mean? How can we take hold of it? And what does it look like for us to hold onto it? With the help of Jesus, we can take it easy.
Friends & Community
Joshua is back and joins me in talking about FRIENDS! People! Community! Why did God create community? Why is it important? How do we get community? And what should it look like once we have people in our lives? We answer all these questions and more in this episode of the Simply Living podcast. Question for the comments: What are some of your ideas for making friends and getting a community?
You Are Free
God calls us to live like we are free, because He set us free by sending His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, making us right with God and grafting us into His family. We are now no longer bound to sin but free in Jesus's name! Woohoo! But sometimes it can be hard to live as if we are. We can get stuck into the culture and ways of the world (as in, those not a part of God's family) and lose sight of the freedom God has given us, thinking we are still bound and have to behave a certain way. In this episode, I talk about how we can live like we are free. When we do, we simplify how our lives can look because we're only living for One, instead of for everyone else or even ourselves. Sacrificial Love
Are we called to sacrificial love as Jesus had for us? Yes, for sure! God calls us to love our families and to take care of them, and that involves sacrifice. Joshua and I sit down to discuss what it looks like to truly take care of family. Whether your siblings, kids, spouse, parents - how can we sacrificially love them like Jesus loves us? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
