Descripción

We’ve all heard the advice. “Slow down.” “Rest.” “Stop rushing.” “Regulate your nervous system.” But what happens when slowing down doesn’t actually feel relaxing? What happens when you finally sit down and your mind immediately starts telling you all the things you should be doing instead? In this episode, we’re talking about the hidden cost of slowing down and why creating a softer life is often more uncomfortable than people expect. We explore: * Why rest can feel stressful instead of peaceful * The guilt many women experience when they stop being productive * What slowing down revealed about my own burnout and nervous system * The mistake I made when I swung too far from high-functioning to non-functioning * Two practical ways to create lasting change without turning your whole life upside down * Why small daily habits often create more transformation than dramatic life overhauls * How faith helps us move at a healthier pace while still honoring our responsibilities One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that slowing down isn’t just about doing less. It’s about becoming present enough to notice what we’ve been running from. The racing thoughts. The anxiety. The exhaustion. The pressure we’ve been putting on ourselves for years. It’s uncomfortable at first, but it’s also where healing begins. If you’re recovering from burnout, feeling stuck in constant productivity, or trying to create a softer and more peaceful life, this episode is for you. A Note About Retreats In this episode, I share why retreats have been one of my favorite ways to hit the reset button and reconnect with God, myself, and what truly matters. Sometimes the fastest way to slow down is to step outside of your normal environment and create space to hear yourself think again. If you’re interested in joining a future retreat, send me your email through Instagram or Substack and I’ll add you to the waitlist. About the Podcast Soft Life with God is a podcast for strong, capable women who want to create more peace, presence, and fulfillment through faith. Together we explore responsibility, authenticity, reverence, homemaking, relationships, nervous system healing, personal growth, and what it means to live a softer life without abandoning the things that matter most. episode Idolatry Isn’t What You Think artwork

Idolatry Isn’t What You Think

Most people think idolatry only means worshipping statues or false gods. But what if it’s much more subtle than that? In this episode, we talk about the modern forms of idolatry that many of us participate in without even realizing it. Money. Success. Relationships. Spiritual leaders. Healing practices. Approval. Control. Even spirituality itself. We explore how anything can become an idol when it takes the place of God at the center of our lives. This episode is not about judgment or fear. It’s about awareness, discernment, and honestly looking at what we are truly centering our lives around. In this episode: * What idolatry actually means beyond religion * Why humans are wired to worship * How good things can quietly become idols * The difference between Creator and creation * Spirituality, plant medicine, and spiritual leadership * The hidden worship of money, power, success, and control * How obsession and attachment pull us out of alignment * What worship really looks like in daily life * Questions to ask ourselves about our priorities and devotion A reminder from this episode: Worship is not just singing or praying. What we consistently give our attention, devotion, trust, sacrifice, and energy to…that is what we worship. This episode is an invitation to reflect on what is truly sitting at the center of our lives and whether it is bringing us closer to God or further away from Him. About the Podcast Soft Life with God is a podcast for strong and independent women who are learning how to slow down, soften, and live with more peace through faith in God. Together, we explore responsibility, authenticity, relationships, healing, homemaking, emotional wellness, and what it means to create a soft life rooted in faith instead of fear, hustle, perfectionism, or control. episode What If Love Isn’t Enough? artwork

What If Love Isn’t Enough?

Why do relationships feel so heavy sometimes, even when the love is there? In this episode, I talk about the deeper issue underneath conflict in relationships: unclear roles, blurred responsibilities, unspoken expectations, and emotional over-carrying. From marriage and parenting to friendships and business partnerships, so many of us are trying to manage other people’s emotions while neglecting our own boundaries and responsibilities. I share my thoughts on emotional safety, cycle breaking, parent-child dynamics, expectations in relationships, and why communication alone is not enough. We also talk about the difference between supporting someone and trying to save them. If you constantly feel overwhelmed, resentful, emotionally responsible for everyone, or frustrated that people “should just know,” this episode is for you. In this episode: * Why communication alone doesn’t solve relationship problems * Understanding roles and responsibilities in relationships * Emotional boundaries between parents and children * The pressure many women feel to carry everything * How perfectionism and people pleasing show up in relationships * Why unspoken expectations create resentment * The difference between helping, supporting, and controlling * Questions to ask yourself for clarity and healthier boundaries * Creating emotional safety in your home and relationships * What softness actually looks like in relationships A few questions from this episode: * Did anyone ask you to do what you’re doing? * Are you helping or controlling? * Are you expecting people to read your mind instead of communicating clearly? * Are you resentful because someone crossed a boundary…or because you never set one? * What would softness look like in this relationship? This episode is a reminder that softness does not mean avoiding responsibility. It means carrying what is yours and allowing other people to carry what is theirs. Healthy relationships are built through clarity, boundaries, communication, grace, and practice. Not perfection. Thank you for being here with me. God bless you and your relationships. episode How to Take Messy Action as a Perfectionist artwork

How to Take Messy Action as a Perfectionist

Perfectionism doesn’t always look like being organized or wanting things neat. Sometimes it looks like: * overthinking every decision * delaying things you care about * constantly second-guessing yourself * feeling pressure to do everything “right” * staying stuck because you don’t feel ready yet In this episode of Soft Life with God, we talk about what it means to take messy action as a perfectionist. I share my experience growing up with high standards, feeling pressure to perform, and tying my worth to doing things perfectly. We talk about how perfectionism can quietly shape the way we move through relationships, work, healing, creativity, and faith. This episode is not about becoming careless or lowering your standards. It’s about learning how to move forward even when things are imperfect. Inside this episode: • The subtle ways perfectionism shows up in everyday life• Why perfectionism can keep you stuck and unable to move• The pressure of always trying to “do it right”• How perfectionism became tied to identity for me• Why God does not ask us to be perfect• The difference between perfectionist thoughts and perfectionist behaviors• Three mindset shifts that helped me take messy action• How faith helps us move even when we feel afraid or uncertain Key reminder: You do not need to do it perfectly. You just need to do it with God. episode A Soft Life Requires Faith in Action artwork

A Soft Life Requires Faith in Action

You believe in God.You pray for guidance. But when it’s time to move, it’s not so easy. There’s resistance. You’re overthinking. “Is this God or is this just me?” In this episode of Soft Life with God, we talk about the gap between faith and action—and why so many women stay stuck there. I share three personal moments where I felt clearly led by God and had to choose whether to follow. Moments that didn’t make logical sense, required sacrifice, and stretched my faith in real life. This episode is about learning how to move—even when you don’t have full clarity. Inside this episode: • Why you feel stuck even when you have faith• How to discern between God’s guidance and fear• Why God’s direction won’t always make logical sense• Letting go of attachment—even to things you love• What it means to choose between “right and right”• A simple way to start taking faith-led action Key reminder: Faith is not just something you believe. It’s something you do. Take the step that is closest to you even before seeing the whole staircase. Simple practice: Pause.Ask: “God, what do you want me to do?”Move on what you receive.Stay consistent. Reflection: • What am I overthinking instead of acting on?• What feels peaceful—but uncomfortable?• What might God be asking me to do today? You’re not meant to figure it all out. You’re meant to move—and trust that God will meet you there. About the Podcast Soft Life with God is for strong, independent women ready to stop carrying everything alone. It’s a practical, faith-centered approach to living with more peace, structure, and support—with God at the center. This is a public episode.
